B2B Polymer Spot Trading
Buy or sell technical polymer spot lots — off-grade, near-prime, wide-spec and stocklot materials from 10 tons upward.
What is polymer spot trading?
Polymer spot trading is the purchase and sale of technical plastic raw materials outside long-term supply contracts. Unlike contract volumes negotiated months ahead, spot lots are available immediately — often surplus production, grade transitions, warehouse overstock, or quality deviations from prime specification. For processors, compounders, and traders who can evaluate material quickly and decide fast, spot trading offers significant cost advantages and supply flexibility.
NSB Polymers operates at the centre of this market: we connect sellers who need to move material quickly with buyers who need it now — across Europe and globally.
Who trades polymer spot lots?
Spot trading serves the entire technical plastics value chain:
Buyers: injection moulders, extruders, compounders, reprocessors, and distributors looking for cost-effective alternatives to prime-grade contract material — or simply filling a gap when their regular supplier runs short.
Sellers: resin producers clearing transition stock after grade changes, OEMs with surplus project material, compounders with off-spec batches, and distributors reducing aged inventory.
NSB works with both sides. We buy full lots for cash and resell into our global network of 200+ vetted partners in 35+ countries.
Quality categories we trade
Not all spot material is the same. We classify every lot into one of seven transparent quality categories so buyers know exactly what they are evaluating:
- Prime — full manufacturer specification, documentation available
- Near-Prime — minimal deviation from prime, often suitable as a direct alternative
- Wide-Spec — broader tolerance ranges (density, MFI, colour), cost-effective for suitable applications
- Off-Grade — production deviation material, economic solution for less demanding applications
- Stocklot / Slow Mover — surplus or slow-moving inventory at competitive pricing
- Start-up / Transition — grade-change material from production transitions
- Special Compounds — tailor-made formulations on request
