01Highest quality

Prime

Prime raw materials are plastics of the highest quality, meeting the most stringent industrial standards. These materials originate directly from regular production and fulfil all specified properties without deviation. They are ideal for applications requiring maximum precision, consistency and reliability.

Typical Use

Demanding engineering applications, safety-critical components, full specification required.

02Cost advantage

Stocklot / Slow Mover

Stocklot or Slow Mover raw materials refer to inventory that sells more slowly than expected, or surplus stock from previous production runs. These materials are often available in larger quantities and offered at reduced prices due to longer warehouse storage. They are particularly attractive for cost-conscious projects where minor deviations from the original specification are acceptable.

Typical Use

Cost-sensitive projects, large-volume sourcing, non-critical applications.

03Near-specification

Near to Prime

Near to Prime raw materials are plastics exhibiting only minimal deviations from prime quality. These differences may occur in colour, flow properties or minor mechanical characteristics. Despite this, they offer high performance and are suitable for numerous industrial applications that do not demand the highest material quality standards.

Typical Use

Broad industrial applications, compounding, injection moulding where slight tolerances are acceptable.

04Broader tolerances

Wide Spec

Wide Spec raw materials exhibit broader tolerances in their specifications. These plastics may vary in properties such as density, melt index or colour, but remain functional and are often usable in applications where specific properties are less critical. They provide a cost-effective alternative to prime raw materials.

Typical Use

Compounding, blending, applications with relaxed tolerance requirements.

05Economic solution

Off-Grade

Off-Grade raw materials are plastics that did not meet the required quality standards during production — for example due to production deviations or contamination. These materials can be used in less demanding applications where the specific properties of the plastic are less critical. They represent an economical solution for projects with lower quality requirements.

Typical Use

Less demanding applications, compounding, secondary processing.

06Production transition

Start-up / Transition

Start-up or Transition raw materials arise during the ramp-up phase of a production run, when machinery is being optimised. These plastics may show quality variations as they are produced during the transition to stable production conditions. They are generally available at lower prices and suitable for applications where certain tolerances can be accepted.

Typical Use

Applications accepting processing tolerances, compounding, cost-optimised sourcing.

07Tailored formulations

Special Customized Compounds

Special Customized Compounds are plastic mixtures specifically tailored to customer requirements. These materials are developed and manufactured to meet specific requirements, delivering unique properties such as enhanced strength, heat resistance or other specialised functions. They are ideal for applications where standard materials do not deliver the desired results.

Typical Use

High-specification applications, bespoke formulations, unique property requirements.
